Old Hickory, Tennessee, is located in both eastern Davidson County and western Wilson County. The town is named in honor of President Andrew Jackson who was nicknamed "Old Hickory". Old Hickory is bordered by both the Cumberland River and Old Hickory Lake. Home to the DuPont Plant, Old Hickory Lock and Dam, a city park, and a country club complete with golf course, Old Hickory is a mix of the old and the new. The area known as The Village of Old Hickory has quaint shops and many historic homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. At the same time, you can find newer, million dollar lakefront homes as well.
